Amanda Bruen
Attorney
Amanda Bruen grew up in southern California, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Southern California in 2010, before moving to Portland and the Greater Northwest, Oregon to attend Lewis & Clark Law School. During law school, Amanda was Vice President of the Crime Victims’ Rights Alliance (CVRA) and volunteered as a Rape Victim Advocate for the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. After graduating law school in May 2014, Amanda immediately applied and was admitted to the Washington Bar Association. Thereafter, Amanda applied and was admitted to the Oregon Bar Association in 2015. In 2017, Amanda received the Multnomah Bar Association’s Michael E. Haglund Award for her work as a Rape Victim Advocate with Legal Aid Services of Oregon’s Domestic Violence Project.
Since June 2017, Amanda has worked as an Associate Attorney with Kerr, Robichaux and Carroll advocating for Social Security disability claimants across the United States. Amanda understands the gravity of this line of work and tries to advocate for clients in accordance with the notion that there is “no greater disability in society, than the inability to see a person as more.” (Robert M. Hensel). Amanda is honored to help claimants navigate the complicated and often-traumatic process of applying for disability benefits and strives to bring a sense of humanity and dignity to the application process.
